    Description

“A Costa da Morte” brings together in its name all the strength and bravery of the Atlantic and the courage of its people. On this spectacular coast is the Finisterrae, the place where the Romans worshiped the death of the sun and towards which many pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago continue.

On the “Costa da Morte” (Cost of Death) the sea reaches a wild force of great beauty, whose name reminds us of the many shipwrecks that have occurred off its coast. The coastline is made up of beautiful beaches and steep cliffs. The lighthouses that populate the entire coast, undoubtedly guard dreams and hope: the dreams of those who look at the infinite ocean and the hope of those who await the return of their sailors and emigrants. In a Costa da Morte the adventures of the fishermen are interspersed with the legends and myths of beings that came to populate these lands … it is that in these lands … the visitor effortlessly perceives the heritage and energy of the Atlantic mythology of Galicia .
Muxía, Camariñas, Malpica, Muros or Vimianzo are some of the towns that can be visited and where we can enjoy gastronomy, deep-rooted traditions, local crafts (such as Buño ceramics or Camariñas lace) and numerous monuments. It should be noted that the area was considered for many centuries as the granary of Galicia, and proof of this is the great concentration and varied typology of granaries in all its municipalities, but we also find beautiful examples of Romanesque architecture, hundreds of dolmens and forts o Pazos (manors) of noble families in the area.
A Costa da Morte is an ideal destination for those who want to escape the crowds, get to know the ocean and enjoy the bravest coast of Galicia.
